This Greenwich Village site was vacant due to the tragic collapse of occupied buildings long ago. The history and the setting between narrow row houses and wider apartment buildings led to a splitbuilding fused-pair dichotomy expressed on the front façade by horizontally and vertically offset masonry flanking the stepped “crack”.
The seven story 20,000 sq ft residential building compromises 8 condominium apartments, 2 owner triplexes and 2 floors of community space and parking.
